Savvy Cyber Kids

About

Savvy Cyber Kids is a nonprofit organization, whose mission is to enable youth, families, and school communities to be empowered by technology. We recognize that children may be Digital Natives but are also “Digital Naives”, who, without intervention, completely lack understanding of the implications of their digital actions. Savvy Cyber Kids resources are used in 43 states and 27 countries world-wide to help parents and teachers educate today’s youth on the topics of cyberbullying, digital reputation, technology and screen-time balance, mental health, body and self-image, physical safety, sexting, privacy, gaming, strangers, and more.

How to be a successful volunteer with Savvy Cyber Kids:

Step 1: Download the volunteer materials by selecting your student age preference here: https://savvycyberkids.org/support/volunteer/
Step 2: After reviewing the materials for both volunteer programs, determine which volunteer program you would like to lead.
Step 3: Contact the elementary school you graduated from. Tell them that you are an alumni and would like to virtually lead a Savvy Cyber Kids session with them. students in (the grades you selected). A sample contact email is below.

Step 5: Let the school know if the students will need any supplies (like paper and pencil or crayons).

Step 7: If the school requests that you provide a conference service, use https://www.freeconferencecall.com/ (or another service of your choice) to set it up and provide the link to the school.
